Grip it and rip it!

Bored of Southsea are our local skateshop and we’ve been going there for almost 20 years. We’ve grown up with the guys that run it, so we were delighted to be asked to build their new website.

As the shop has grown over the years, they have attracted some great brands like Brixton, Palace, Polar Skate Co and Huf and get access to limited edition products before they hit the shelves elsewhere.

To differentiate them from mass market skate retailers, we set out to create a more mature identity for the brand using a simple understated colour palette, super minimal interface design and great product imagery.

Powerful merchandising capabilities

Keeping in mind that skateboarding is about fun as well as looking cool, we also tucked in a few animations and illustrations to give it a friendly vibe including the infamous Southsea Bronx logo.

The website is built on Magento which is widely regarded as the ultimate online ecommerce platform. This is mainly due to the way it effortlessly handles thousands of complex products, the powerful merchandising capabilities it offers retailers and the helpful product filtering tools it provides customers.

As well as building the website, we also moved them to a single integrated stock management system for their two physical stores and online shop, including setting up a new POS and till system.

It’s been a great experience working with such a great team of passionate people, united by the love of skateboarding. Bored of Southsea is open for business, go there and buy stuff!
